How to Stay Healthy Even if You Have to Go to Work

When it comes down to it, – the best defense is a good team!

We need our offense to attack! attack! attack! And we need our defense to secure our advantage and build strength by gathering resources…

Lifestyle medicine does both. Enjoy fewer colds, fewer sick days, and fewer symptoms even if you do happen to get sick.

Our lifestyle choices can keep us healthy even if we have to go to work. We don’t have to rely on a magic pill or government intervention. Others can certainly be a factor in our success or failure, but that doesn’t discount own own efforts. Besides the usual well promoted good practices of not spreading infectious disease, we can be healthy if we stay active, eat healthy, relax, and get sleep.

What we eat can help our immune system Attack! What we Don’t eat can cause our defense to fail. When we move, we improve our mental outlook and decrease our heart’s workload.

The fiber in raw fruits and vegetables have both a prebiotic and probiotic affect on our everyday gut bacteria.  When we don’t eat fruits and vegetables we are missing the opportunity to feed our gut and help our body’s blood vessel cells.

Go for a walk or get regular exercise of your choice. Then sit down to nutritious food that will boost your immune system, like garlic, …tomatoes, spinach, bok choy, carrots, cabbage, broccoli, kale, strawberries, beet greens, cilantro, pineapples, cauliflower, apples, turnip greens, asparagus, blueberries… the list goes on, –

Whole foods!

Put good nutrition together with activity to reduce stress, decrease inflammation, increase resilience. Each serving of whole fruits and vegetables can strengthen your body and keep you healthy.

Be on the offense by helping your body’s defense!
