It isn’t hard to make salad dressing with just a few ingredients. This is the best strawberry walnut salad dressing, – quick & healthy without added oil.
Oil adds unnecessary calories and damage the inner lining of the body’s blood vessels. You can keep your blood moving more smoothly when you choose to use a dressing with no added oil. This recipe is a whole food plant-based recipe so it is the fat from the walnuts that are giving the dressing its rich body and helping it stick to salad ingredients.
This recipe is flexible. You can play with it using a different fruit or nut depending what you have on hand.
Strawberry Walnut Dressing
1 cup strawberries, frozen or fresh
3/4 cup of water
1/3 cup walnuts
3 Tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 Tablespoons maple syrup (or 1-2 Tablespoons of date paste)
In a high powered blender, puree all ingredients starting with the water and vinegar until smooth. Taste and adjust seasonings if desired with additional sweet, vinegar, salt, and/or pepper. Store any remaining dressing in an airtight jar in the fridge for 3-4 days.
