Okay people :) As you know I have been concentrating on sharing the importance of good nutrition πŸ‡ Starting in March, I am beginning a Master Series to get certified πŸ€“ I will be learning how to better teach the whys. I welcome the opportunity for any tools I can get to help people ... Eat for Performance, Beat sugar addiction, Understand what drives eating decisions, Feed the Entire Family healthy meals, Including kids!!! If you are interested, my March online Bootcamp it will include workouts, πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ of course, More importantly - it will include solid, real-life-applicable nutrition building skills to create habits that will help you move forward stronger. 🌧 I panic a little whenever I wake up to the sound of rain like I did this morning. That's because rain can quickly wash out the end of our driveway turning into a rushing waterway that is impassable. So I threw my stuff together and got out the door. Of course today is the day my son is taking the ACT at school- so no skipping! πŸ˜€ When I saw how bad the situation was I had to call him and wake him so he couldΒ  follow me down and out in the truck to a neighbor's driveway. (Then they'll have to take the ATV to get to the truck when they leave for school) He hops in my rig, then I have to drive him back to our house - then make it back down and across -all the while the rains continues and the water is rising. It's a race.😨 Holy buckets of rain Batman! Wish we had realized the full impact of this driveway before we bought the house. All ends well for now. I made it to work on time, and the kiddiesare sitting in their little school desks ready to learn. Being able to get up from failure and keep moving forward is a huge part of success. Life is full of trial and error and constant tweaking. You have to be resilient in order to face problems everyday. And success always comes with help andΒ  support of others. I feel like flowers and chocolate are in order for the good neighbors that allow us to use their space to keep us up and running πŸ˜€ . . . . #keepmovingforward #success #resilience #everydayphotoaday #photoaday #trust
I have fun cooking and baking. I like discovering new flavors & combinations. But... Sometimes it is overwhelming to think about cutting sugar, meat, and dairy in a meat centered, convenience oriented culture -Β  Shocking, eh? 😏 And there's the time crunch πŸ™„ That's why it is important for me to keep coming back to Why. Why? Why? In Short: Plant based eating can decrease glycemic load, increase fiber, protect against cancer, boost metabolism. Which can lead to improved skin, stronger immune system, energy boost, weight loss, better digestion, clear thinking, better sleep, balanced mood, & overall slimmer and trimmer. It's a No Brainer!!! So here are my latest two cheats: 1. I've been keeping my eyes peeled in the produce section for reasonably priced pre - chopped items. 2. I've been recruiting helpers in the kitchen for some of the chopping & prepping. #stirfry #mealprep #veges #wholefoods #nutrition #chopitlikeitshot #healthbenefits #knowyourwhy #healthy #hearthealthmonth #healthyhabits #healthyself #CoachCat #vegetables #veggies #nobrainer

Woo hoo! This is the first weekend of 2019 that I haven't been sick! No respiratory funk. No dizziness. No stomach issues. That was one heck of a virus. I think I finally got rid of it by following the advice that I usually give out to other people 😏 One of the great things about being a nurse is the tendency to turn into a hypocondriac πŸ˜€ I had my problem pinpointed to inner ear inflammation... Or a brain tumor. Lol. I finally committed to taking a full 3 day course of anti inflammatory medicine whether I felt better or not - And I think I nailed it. All better!!! At last With the fabric we bought to have "MLK On" making blankets for Project Linus, (That didn't happen)... We finally got to make blankets today for National Make a Blanket Day which was yesterday πŸ˜† A little mixed up and behind schedule, but it still works. As long as it gets done, it doesn't really matter which day. . . . #blanket #security #securityblanket #projectlinus #MLKon #fleeceblanket #fringe #nurselife #nationalmakeablanketday #makeablanket #healthyself #healthy #imoverit #worksforme
Long before I was a nurse, Before I even considered things like Heart Health, Back when I was in grade school, I fell in love with Valentine's Day πŸ’• Mom went along with it & helped meΒ  start a tradition of always having a party on Valentine's Day - we did for many years until the family grew out of it. I've always decorated for Valentine's Day - in recent years set out a little board book with the story of Valentine. This year, our dog Copper πŸ‘€ chewed it up (my husband & son think he is trustworthy alone in the house, though he continues to prove he is not). Just been thinking a lot about hope and hopelessness lately, and why people get to a point where they don't value themselves and stop taking care of themselves. Often doing it without realizing it. Making excuses as for why the "can't" take care of themselves. You can't will somebody to be motivated. They have to want it for themselves. But you can Love Them. Whenever someone reaches a point of hopelessness they get stuck and have trouble moving forward. Whether it's about health or other life circumstance - finances, career, relationship - whatever, We get mired in hopelessness. I've decided Love begets Hope. In almost any circumstance. So if I get lost all I need to do is come back to love. Self love first -Β  valuing myself first -Β  in all my weirdness, success, and failure - allows me to value others & go somewhere with Hope. Nudging people from time to time. Moving forward together as a team πŸ’ͺ What would I do without all those who have been patient & persistent with me? Keeping it real, not expecting Rome to be built in a day? I'm thankful today that I have such an Awesome A-team. Always there to nudge me when I'm stuck. My rocks to cling to - Thanks guys! Love Never Ends. The cycle of loving others is not complete unless you allow others (& you) to love you back. That's how we can all keep move forward in Hope. Be my Valentine and give me a ❀ if you agree πŸ€— . . . . #love #loveneverends #Corinthians #hope #weirdos #patience #resilience #worksforme #keepmovingforward #bemyvalentine #valentine #valentinesday #February #gosomewhere
